Now we get to take the coin door apart and clean all the little bits. This is a tedious process but is necessary to get all the dirt, grime, and rust off.
The little plastic coin entry placards are cleaned with a plastic polish called Novus 2. Novus #2 can be used for a variety of cleaning and polishing tasks and should be a staple supply for anyone who works on pinball machines.
Another must have tool is a buffing wheel to shine up metal parts.
As always, take lots of digital pictures before taking the coin door apart so you can put it back together later. I have done enough of these that I can put them together by memory so don’t have pictures this time.
